News

A month ago Irish voters rejected the EU's Lisbon Treaty in a referendum. On Monday the BBC's Europe Correspondent, Jonny Dymond will be back in Dublin as French President Nicolas Sarkozy (pictured) tries to persuade the Irish to vote again. With three weeks to go until the Beijing Olympics, BBC World News has reports on China's - and the athletes - preparations for the games. And in Against the Odds the BBC looks at six athletes heading to the Olympics after overcoming huge hurdles. From training in war zones, to overcoming poverty, persecution or family tragedy, we will follow their journey to Beijing and track their progress in the ultimate competition.

Further coverage of the Olympics can be found at bbc.com/olympics
